I have a MacBook Air with MacOS Mojave 10.14.6.
Does Virtualbox Run On Catalina
I use VirtualBox 6.1, but had the same problems with 6.0.14.
I'm running a virtual machine with MacOS 10.15.1 without any problems.
For me it is not possible to update the virtual machine to 10.15.2.
I tried these things:
Extract the macOS Catalina Virtual Image. When you first get the Virtual Image it will be in what is. I use VirtualBox 6.1, but had the same problems with 6.0.14. Sandisk secureaccess™ software for mac download. I'm running a virtual machine with MacOS 10.15.1 without any problems. For me it is not possible to update the virtual machine to 10.15.2. I tried these things: Chose the update in System Preferences / Software Update; Download the 10.15.2 combo update and install that.
- The real easy way to run Catalina is to use the script to install Mojave on VirtualBox and then run it in VMWare and upgrade it to Catalina.
- The solution was to download the latest, Catalina-compatable VirtualBox installer.dmg (version 6.12 and up) and run VirtualBoxUninstall.tool. This failed, but prompted for extra permissions in System Preferences.
- Run MacOS Catalina (10.15.13) Guest on VirtualBox. Install MacOS Catalina 10.15.3 with one command: $ make catalina. This project will help you install MacOS Catalina 10.15.3 as a guest on VirtualBox (currently only tested on MacOS). The process will partially-automate the MacOS Catalina 10.15.3 Install and requires some user interaction.

Going to EFI and searching for the boot.efi in the macos_updates folder does not help. After failing, it is still possible to boot into the 10.15.1 version by manually selecting the correct entry in the Boot selection of EFI. Log files don't show anything.
